About

Hi!  My name is Jeremy Green.  That's me over there.  I've gotten into photography over the last few years and Green House Photography is my new photography business.

I originally got into photography after seeing some HDR images start to pop up on the web a few years back.  Being the geek that I am I figured that combining gratuitous computing with photography sounded like an interesting idea.  I started with just a few experiments with a camera that I already had, and it sort of took off from there.

Now it's a couple of cameras later and I've been fortunate enough to have been contacted to do some professional work and have also started to sell a few prints.  Please check out my Portfolio page and be sure to visit the Galleries to get some prints of your own.

In addition to photography I'm a programmer by day, and do some music on the side.

So, what's with the name?

Well, my last name is Green, and I do most of my photo work out of my house, so, well, I'm sure you get the picture.

Thanks

I'd be remiss in my duty as a Good Person (TM) if I didn't mention the generous help I've recieved from several people I've "met" via flickr.  The following individuals have responded to questions and offered advice and tips that have greatly helped me along in my photographic endeavors.

I also owe a debt of gratitude to the authors and maintainers of the following software packages.  The openess and willingness to share their work allows me to continue in the finest tradition of standing on the shoulders of giants.

Special Thanks to Josh Sommers

One guy has really gone above and beyond in steering me in the right direction on several tricky issues.  Josh Sommers has been very kind in supplying detailed instructions on panoramic and projection techniques in particular.  In addition he is the author of the current Droste Effect plugin that has seen some use around flickr.  More than any other person he has helped me to advance my skills.  And I've never even met the guy in person.  In addition to being a nice guy, he's fast on his way to becoming one of the most talented and unique photographers/digital artists around.  He was even commissioned to do an original creation for a recent issue of Playboy.  Just take a look at some of his recent work.

Extra Special Thanks to My Wife, Rachel

I wouldn't have any of the photos that I do if Rachel didn't put up with my spending money on photographic equipment.  She's also a great sport about me always trying to get some pictures in when I'm supposed to just be enjoying a vacation.  Plus, she puts up with me in general, so that works out well for me.

About My Photos

Most of my photos have been manipulated by a computer in one way or another.  Some of them have been manipulated in multiple ways.  Use the links below to learn more about a few of my techniques.

I did not invent any of these techniques.  I've just found tools to allow me to use them.
